🎙️”It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” by Joe Landry was inspired by the classic American film by Frank Capra. This production is performed as a 1940s live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. An ensemble of actors perform the dozens of characters in the radio play as well as produce the sound effects.
🎙️The performances run December 5th through the 22nd—Thurs, Fri, Sat shows at 7:30 pm & Sun matinees at 2 pm.

About the Show:
Once on This Island is a captivating and joyous Caribbean-infused musical, based on the novel My Love, My Love by Rosa Guy. It tells the story of Ti Moune, a fearless peasant girl who embarks on a journey guided by the island's gods to find her place in the world and reunite with the young man who has captured her heart.
This magical tale of love, loss, and community celebrates storytelling, resilience, and the power of the human spirit.

Roles Available
We are seeking a diverse cast of all genders, ages (16+ unless specified), and ethnicities. Once on This Island celebrates African and Afro-Caribbean cultural heritage, and casting will prioritize authenticity and representation.
🏝️Principal Roles
Ti Moune (Female, 18-20) – A spirited and determined peasant girl with a strong belt/mix voice. Must be able to convey vulnerability, passion, and joy. STRONG DANCER
Little Ti Moune (Female, 8-12) The young version of Ti Moune who is the thread of the story. Must have strong belt.
Daniel Beauxhomme (Male, 20-25) – A handsome and privileged young man. Tenor with strong vocals.
Erzulie (Female, 35+) – Goddess of Love. Mezzo-soprano. Warm, graceful, and ethereal.
Papa Ge (Any gender, 35+) – Demon of Death. Alto or baritone with a commanding stage presence.
Agwe (Male, 35+) – God of Water. Baritone/tenor with a booming voice and magnetic energy.
Asaka (Female, 35+) – Mother of the Earth. Big, bold, and soulful. Mezzo-soprano/belter.

Mama Euralie (Female, 50’s)- Ti Moune’s adoptive Mother. Strong singer/actor. Soprano
Ton Ton Julian (Male, 50’s)- Baritone. Ti Moune’s world weary adoptive Father. Strong actor/singer
Armand Beauxhomme- (Male, 50’s)- Daniel’s French father.
Andrea Devereaux (Female, late 20’s)-Daniel’s wife to be. Mezzo Strong actor/singer
Ensemble
Storytellers, Villagers to make up inhabitants of the island. Ensemble members play a vital role in the storytelling. Strong singers and dancers are encouraged to audition.
What to Prepare
🎶Vocal: Please prepare a brief song(16-32 bars) in the style of the show. Singing from the show is acceptable and welcome. Please indicate which character you would like to be considered for on your audition form. Please bring headshot and resume. If you do not have either you are still encouraged to audition!!! Please bring sheet music in the correct key. Accompanist provided. NO ACAPELLA SINGING. (Singing with backing track is acceptable if you do not have sheet music) Please be prepared to sing a selection from the show if asked.
💃🏾Movement: Please bring comfortable clothes and shoes for a movement call should you be asked to stay. Call will take place immediately following vocal auditions from 4:00pm-5:00pm
